Will Jurassic World Rebirth be a big bang at the box office?

DINO MIGHT at the box office! Jurassic World Rebirth comes out this weekend, and using Diesel’s predictive modeling, the newest entry in the ferocious franchise is projected to stomp into theaters with an opening weekend domestic box office in the range of $90 to $125 million.

We used 3 model variations in this projection: movie info page views (a variant of search interest), comments, and a combined model incorporating all three. For context, here is how JWR would project to do against other, similar films.

We also analyzed online discourse surrounding the film in comparison to its predecessor Jurassic World Dominion– themes include a balance of hope with a new iteration in the saga but also reservations around what the sequel will bring to the table.

Conversation around the trailer focused on both positive and negative aspects of the film. Fans are excited about how the new film harkens back to the original (e.g. with references to the original John Williams score) but are worried the series is becoming repetitive.
